About The Stayner Lawn Bowling Club
The Club was established in 1924. It is managed and maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers.
Located south of Hwy 26 at 205 Ontario Street in Stayner the Club House is equipped with a kitchen, washrooms and indoor as well as outdoor seating. The facility has seven bowling "rinks".
The Stayner Lawn Bowling Club encourages a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We play jitneys so there are no pre-set teams or leagues. You are free to decide when and how often you play. Before each "jitney" teams are drawn based on who has come to bowl. Some members come simply for the social interaction. Our members range in age from 9 to 90+ years. Most of our members are seniors and continue to bowl as the mechanics of bowling is a very gentle form of exercise that helps to keep them mobile. The younger members learn quickly that with age comes skill.
Beginners get lots of tips from more experienced players and there is always someone willing to help. Skill development is available in the form of clinics, training sessions, drills, written and video resources. Of course, practice makes perfect!
Throughout the season, there are fun member only events, non-competitive "friendlies" with other clubs and competitive tournaments for those who want a challenge.
Come out and see what the club is all about!
